Classes

Little Grapplers (K-3rd Grade)

This group focuses solely on learning and gaining an athletic foundation. We don't emphasize competing at tournaments in this age group. Instead, we believe this age should concentrate on learning wrestling, enhancing their motor skills, growing stronger, and having fun. Live wrestling and competitive activities will be conducted in our practice setting.

Mondays & Wednesdays @ 6 - 7pm

Youth & Middle School (4th-8th Grade)

This group focuses on competition, improving wrestling skills, repetitions, higher intensity, developing toughness, and having fun while doing hard things.

Mondays & Wednesdays @ 7:10 - 8:30pm

*TW Wrestlers are welcome to attend practices at both of our locations (Jerome & Twin Falls)

  • IDAWAY (MEMWAY) Membership Requirement:

All club participants are required to have an active MEMWAY membership. This membership includes essential insurance coverage, encompassing both liability and secondary medical insurance. The insurance offers necessary protection for athletes against injuries incurred during practices or competitions. A MEMWAY membership is also required if you plan on competing at any IDAWAY tournaments during the season.

Follow the steps below to purchase a MEMWAY membership for your athlete:

    • Step #1: Create a SportsEngine account for your athlete at SportsEngine Account Setup.

    • Step #2: After creating the account, visit TW Wrestling MEMWAY Membership to purchase your MEMWAY Membership and associate your athlete with the TW Wrestling Club.

    USA Wrestling Membership:

While not mandatory for club participation, USA Wrestling membership is highly recommended for wrestlers seeking extra competitive opportunities at local, regional, and national events. As the National Governing Body for wrestling in the United States, USA Wrestling hosts events that we will be traveling to with some of our more experienced athletes. You can purchase a USA Wrestling Membership at https://www.usawmembership.com/

  • Little Grapplers (K-3rd Grade): This group focuses solely on learning the sport of wrestling and gaining an athletic foundation. This group is not recommended to compete at tournaments. We will conduct live wrestling and hold competitive activities in our practice setting.

Youth & Middle School (4th-8th Grade): First year wrestlers are not recommended to compete at tournaments. My recommendation is to let them get 1-season of practices under their belt before they compete at a tournament.

Schedule: A tournament schedule will be posted in the wrestling room and sent out via the Band app, and emailed once the schedule is finalized. Athletes are not required to compete at every tournament, but are encouraged to compete throughout the club season.

Saturdays: Tournaments are typically on Saturdays with the occasional Friday night. Different age groups usually start at different times.

Transportation: Parents are responsible for getting their athletes to and from the tournaments.

MEMWAY Card: Most of the tournaments during this youth season will be under the IDAWAY wrestling organization. In order to compete at an IDAWAY tournament you’ll need to purchase a MEMWAY card for insurance purposes and to register for tournaments: https://memberships.sportsengine.com/org/memway/affiliation/tw-wrestling

USAW Card: Other tournaments we will potentially be competing at are sanctioned under the USA Wrestling Organization. If you plan on competing at USA tournament you’ll need to purchase as USAW card: https://www.usawmembership.com/

Trackwrestling & Entry Fees: Parents are responsible for registering their athletes for each tournament. This is usually done through https://www.trackwrestling.com/ where you’ll register for the event and pay the tournament entry fee. I will send out tournament registration links when they go live.

  • Shoes: You’re encouraged to purchase a pair of wrestling shoes. No other shoes are allowed on the wrestling mats. If you cannot purchase a pair, kids are okay to practice in their socks. If you plan on competing at tournaments, then having your own pair of wrestling shoes is highly recommended.

Wrestling Singlets: Wrestling singlets are not required. Athletes can compete in shorts and a t-shirt if they do not want to wear a singlet. You can purchase singlets online or we will have an online store available throughout the season to purchase club wrestling gear and TW Wrestling singlets.

Gear: A club t-shirt is included with your club fee. Athletes will have the option to purchase additional club gear when the store link is provided

Practice Clothes: Athletes should wear shorts or sweats and a t-shirt to practice.
